Ingredients
2 pack(s) | frozen puff pastry |
1 ½ l | milk |
10 tbsp | sugar |
200 g | semolina |
4 | eggs |
100 g | butter |
1 tbsp | lemon zest |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
2 tbsp | butter, melted |
some | icing sugar |
cinnamon powder |
Instructions
Line a baking tray with baking paper and divide the pastry from 1 pack on the paper and leave there to thaw. Unpack also the other pastry and allow to thaw.Heat the milk with the sugar, stirring in slowly the semolina. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly and cook about 3 minutes until thick. Take from heat, stirring occasionally. Once the semolina pudding has cooled slightly, whisk in the eggs, melted butter, a pinch of salt and the lemon zest.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and brush the puff pastry on the baking tray with it. Spread with the semolina pudding. Divide the remaining pastry on top and brush with butter. Bake in the preheated oven at about 180°C for approximately 50 minutes.
Mix icing sugar and cinnamon and dust the Bougaza with the mixture.
Usually served warm but also delicious when cold!
