Beef bourguignonne recipe details
- Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean boneless stewing beef
- Dry red wine (about 1 cup)
- Flour
- 4 cloves garlic
- 4 peppercorns
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Water
Marinate beef overnight in refrigerator in wine. Drain and reserve wine for cooking. Lightly dust beef with flour and saute lightly. Place beef in ovenproof dish along with garlic, peppercorns, bay leaf, thyme, salt, reserved wine (about 3/4 cup), and enough water to cover meat.
Cook in preheated oven about 3 hours at 300 degrees.
