Banana custard pudding recipe details
Ingredients
10 | bananas |
400 g | vanilla wafers, crumbled |
500 g | sugar |
50 g | flour |
40 g | cornstarch |
1 ½ l | milk |
4 medium | eggs, yolks only |
60 g | butter |
1 tsp | vanilla extract |
Instructions
Combine flour, sugar and cornstarch in a medium mixing bowl. Mix well and set aside.Pour milk into a large saucepan and cook over medium heat. Combine the egg yolks in a bowl and stir one fourth of the hot milk into yolks.
Add egg yolk mixture into the reserved dry ingredients. Stir. Add everything to remaining hot milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Remove from heat, and stir in butter and vanilla. Let cool to room temperature.
Line bottom of a baking dish with one-third of the vanilla wafers. Arrange half of banana slices over wafers and then top with half of the cooled custard mixture.
Repeat layers, reserving one-third of wafers to crumble and sprinkle over custard. Chill thoroughly for several hours before serving.
