Baked lentils recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | lentils |
1 medium | onion, minced |
1 | bay leaf |
2 tsp | salt |
1 l | water |
60 ml | molasses |
2 tbsp | brown sugar |
1 tsp | dry mustard |
¼ tsp | Worcestershir sauce |
olive or vegetable oil, optional |
Instructions
Place lentils in a Dutch oven or a heat-proof cooking ware.Bring water to boiling point. Cover and let simmer 30 minutes.
Stir in molasses, brown sugar, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce and minced onion. Add a little olive or vegetable oil, if desired.
Cover and bake at 180°C for 1 hour. Uncover during last few minutes. Leftover lentils can be refrigerated and used as desired.
