Winter brownies recipe details
Ingredients
For the dough: | |
200 g | dark couverture |
200 g | butter |
200 g | sugar |
4 | eggs |
200 g | all-purpose flour |
2 tsp | baking powder |
200 g | ground hazelnuts |
1 tbsp | cocoa powder |
½ | lemon, untreated, grated rind |
½ | orange, untreated, grated rind |
10 tbsp | hot spiced wine, or red grape juice |
To garnish: | |
dark couverture | |
1 tbsp | coconut oil |
hazelnut brittle | |
chopped pistachios |
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 160°C.Melt the couverture and allow to cool completely. Stir butter and sugar until creamy and add the eggs one by one, then fold in the melted couverture.
Mix together flour, baking powder, hazelnuts, cocoa powder and the orange rind and lemon rind. Stir in the couverture mixture and add the hot spiced wine.
Pour the dough in a greased flat loaf pan (30*30 cm) and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes. Allow the cake to cool completely.
To garnish:
Melt the couverture and mix in the coconut oil. Brush the glaze on top of the cake and garnish immediately with hazelnut brittle and chopped pistachios. Allow the glaze to cool completely, then cut the cake into small squares.
Note:
For the little ones you can substitute red grape juice for the hot spiced wine.
