Vanilla panna cotta recipe details
Ingredients
1 | vanilla pod, cut in half and black seeds scraped out |
5 leaves | gelatine |
450 ml | double cream |
450 ml | milk |
75 g | caster sugar |
cold water |
Instructions
Place the gelatine leaves in a bowl of cold water and leave to soak for 5 minutes.In a saucepan combine vanilla pod and seeds, cream, milk and sugar. Bring to a quick boil. Remove from heat and leave for 5 minutes so that the vanilla taste can develop in the cream mixture. Bring the cream back to the boil then remove from the heat.
Drain the gelatine leaves and add to the hot cream. Stir until the gelatine dissolves.
Strain and pour into 6 greased ramekins (150ml). Chill for at least 6 hours in the fridge.
Serving suggestion:Serve with rhubarb compote, fruit, chocolate or caramel sauce.
