Turkey and leeks recipe details
Ingredients
80 g | butter |
450 g | boneless turkey, diced |
150 g | flour |
450 ml | milk |
2 tsp | fresh sage, chopped |
450 g | leeks, trimmed, sliced |
100 g | mushrooms, sliced |
1 tsp | mustard powder |
1 tsp | paprika |
50 g | Cheddar cheese, grated |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Melt 25g butter in a large saucepan, add the turkey and fry until slightly browned, 5-6 minutes.Stir in 25g flour and cook for 2-3 minutes, gradually blend in the milk. Cook, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens. Season to taste and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add the sage, leeks and mushrooms to the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
Combine the remaining flour, mustard and paprika and mix with remaining butter. Stir in the cheese and mix until cheese is melted.
Preheat oven to 200°C.
Pour the turkey and leek sauce into a large enough ovenproof baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese sauce and bake for 25 minutes.
