Angel food cake recipe details
Ingredients
10 large | eggs, egg whites only |
15 tsp | cream of tartar |
25 tsp | salt |
300 g | sugar, granulated, put twice through a sieve |
1 tsp | vanilla |
90 g | cake flour, sifted |
Instructions
In a bowl beat the egg whites first. Add cream of tartar and salt when eggs are frothy.Continue beating until egg whites stand in peaks. Gradually beat in 190g of the granulated sugar and then fold in vanilla.
Sift the sifted and measured flour three more times and then mix with the remaining sugar. Fold flour mixture gently into batter until well mixed together.
Pour batter into an ungreased 25cm tube pan and bake at 170°C° for 55 to 65 minutes.
Remove from oven and leave until entirely cooled.
