Trumpeter inn french toast recipe details
- Ingredients
- 6 slices bread, cut 3/4 inch thick
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 Tablespoons corn syrup
- 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
Place bread slices in 10 x 13-inch pan. Mix eggs, milk, and vanilla together. Pour over bread and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup in a pan and cook on stove for about 3 minutes. Remove bread, set aside, and place sliced apples in bottom of baking pan. Cover with syrup mixture, then bread slices. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. To serve, use a spatula and flip a slice of bread onto a plate with apples on top. I like to decorate the plate first with a drizzle of syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
