Tom's best turkey chili recipe details
This chili is best made in a crock pot but can be made on the stove-top if desired. Tastes even better left over and goes great with an ice-cold beer.

Ingredients
Serves: 12- 3 pounds ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green bell peppers, chopped
- 2 yellow or orange bell peppers
- 4 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
- 4 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 5 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2.5 tablespoons ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup Frank’s(R) Red Hot sauce
- 1 (12 ounce) amber-style beer
Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 6 hours1. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned and cooked through. Place ground turkey in a large crock pot.
2. Next, add the oil to the skillet and heat. Add the onions and garlic to the skillet and cook until soft, about 5 – 7 minutes and add to the crock pot.
3. Add the peppers and tomatoes to the crock pot.
4. In a medium bowl combine chili powder, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, cayenne and crushed red pepper.
5. In larger bowl, mix together the tomato sauce and Red Hot. Add the spice mixture to the sauce and stir until well blended. Add the chili sauce and beer to the crock pot and stir.
6. Cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 4-6.
