Ingredients

200 g basmati rice
1 tbsp oil
2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
1  onion, chopped
½ small white cabbage, shredded
fish sauce
3 sprig(s) fresh coriander, chopped
chilli powder

Instructions

In a saucepan, bring the rice with 500 ml water to a boil. Cook for 7 minutes. Switch off the heat.

In a wok or skillet, heat oil and stir-fry garlic, onions and cabbage until translucent. Add 200 ml water and cook until the water has evaporated. Season the mixture with fish sauce.

Transfer the mixture into the saucepan with the rice, add 400 ml water and bring to a boil. Cook over low heat for another 5 minutes or until the rice is soft. Season to taste with fish sauce and chilli powder.

Serve sprinkled with coriander.
