Ingredients
Makes: 2 pies- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 2 unbaked 9-inch pie shells
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 40 mins1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, margarine, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil and cook until sugar dissolves completely.
3. Meanwhile, beat the eggs until very thick and foamy. Set aside.
4. Stir vanilla and pecans into the hot syrup, then add the eggs. Mix well.
5. Pour into pie shells and bake 40 minutes.
