Flat iron steaks are grilled as you like them, and served with a tasty, warm salsa featuring grilled mangoes.

Ingredients

Serves: 4

• 1 (1 1/2 lb) flat iron steak
• 2 ripe mangos, pitted and slit in half
• 1 lime
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp pepper
• 1 cup chopped tomato
• 1/4 cup chopped onion
• 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
• 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped

Preparation method

Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 20 mins

1. Rub steaks and cut surfaces of halved lime and mango with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill steaks, mango and lime (cut side down for lime and mango) over medium-high heat 4 minutes per side for rare to medium rare.
2. Cut grilled mango into cubes removing from the skin and mix with onion, cilantro and jalapeno. Squeeze grilled lime over salsa and mix.
3. Let beef rest 5 minutes before slicing into 1/2 inch slices. Serve sliced beef topped with salsa.
