Ingredients
Serves: 8- 2 pounds beef top sirloin, thinkly slice or purchased pre cut for stir fry
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 7 tablespoons of butter, divided
- 1 sweet onion
- 1 cup or more to taste sliced fresh mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed beef broth
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup white wine
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 1 hour1. Preheat grill to Hot and oil the grate. Season the meat with salt and pepper and place on grill. Just sear the meat, about 1 minute per side. Place on a platter.
2. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium high heat. Cook onion in melted butter for 5 minutes, then remove to platter. Add 2 more tablespoons of butter and cook mushrooms in melted butter for 5 minutes, then remove to platter as well.
3. Melt remaining butter in skillet and add flour. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring, then gradually add the broth and bring to a boil. Add mustard, meat, mushrooms, onions, and any pan juices from the platter. Heat through.
4. Add sour cream and wine. Salt and pepper to taste, then serve. Stroganoff is traditionally served over egg noodles.
