- Ingredients:
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 2/3 cup catsup
- 1-1/3 cups water
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- Pinch of baking powder
- 1 cup flour
- 1/3 cup liquid shortening
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2/3 cup honey
- Hot pepper sauce to taste
- Garlic granules to taste
Combine flour, baking powder, and chicken breasts in bag and shake to coat. Heat shortening over low heat in non-stick skillet. Brown chicken in hot shortening.
Combine remaining liquid ingredients in sauce pan and bring to a slow boil, stirring often.
Spray oven-proof casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray and arrange chicken breasts in dish. Pour hot sauce over chicken and allow to marinate 1 to 2 hours.
Bake at 325 degrees for 60 to 90 minutes.
Serve with seasoned rice and vegetable side dish.
