Ingredients
1 large | onion, chopped |
1 large | carrot, chopped |
50 g | butter |
15 g | plain flour |
400 ml | beef stock |
1 | bay leaf |
1 handful | parsley, chopped |
thyme | |
1 tbsp | tomato puree |
½ tsp | mustard powder |
½ tsp | salt |
pepper |
Instructions
In a saucepan heat the butter and sauté the onion and the carrot until golden. Dust with the flour and stir until combined. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for 30 minutes. Season to taste with pepper.Pass the sauce through a sieve into a sauceboat. Serve with steak.
