Ingredients
200 g | lentils |
½ tsp | turmeric |
½ tsp | salt |
1 l | water |
1 tbsp | vegetable oil |
½ tsp | mustard seeds |
2 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
2 | chilies, chopped |
2 tsp | shredded coconut |
2 tsp | brown sugar |
200 g | long grain rice, cooked |
1 tbsp | coriander, chopped |
Instructions
Cook rice until soft. Drain.Place lentils in pan with water. Add turmeric and salt. Bring to the boil, cover and cook until lentils soft.
In other pan heat oil, and sauté mustard seeds, chilies and garlic. Add coconut and fry for 2 minutes.
Add fried seasoning to the lentils and add the sugar and cooked rice. Simmer for 5 minutes.
To serve sprinkle with coriander.
