Ingredients
1 loaf cinnamon/raisin bread
3/4 cup sugar
8 ounces half & half cream
7 eggs plus 3 egg yolks
1 stick of butter melted
1 Tablespoon vanilla
3 cups milk
Instructions:

Assemble the night before.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray vegetable oil in a 9 x 13-inch casserole pan and layer the bread and melted butter. You should get six squares of bread 3 layers deep. Combine rest of ingredients and pour evenly over the bread. Dust with cinnamon powder. Place casserole into a large pan with 1/2 inch of water in it. Put in the oven. This avoids burning. Be careful not to spill water on yourself taking it out. Set on cool rack. Remove casserole from hot water carefully. Let sit 10 to 15 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar. Pre-cut into 12 pieces.

If you make different quantities, you may have 2 layers of bread instead of 3. Then serve a whole section of bread instead of cutting in half.

If you halve the recipe for 4 folks, use 4 eggs and 2 egg yolks. Everything else you just halve.
