Ingredients

6  salmon steaks
500 ml water
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 small onion, sliced
1 tsp salt
6  whole cloves
1  bay leaf
1 sprig(s) parsley
For the sauce:
200 g cucumber, peeled, finely chopped
120 ml sour cream
60 ml mayonnaise
1 tbsp parsley, minced
1 tbsp dill weed
salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Arrange salmon steaks in a baking dish.

Combine rest of ingredients in a saucepan and cook for abour 3-5 minutes, until heated through. Pour over salmon, cover with waxed paper and bake for about 20 minutes at 150°C or until fish flakes easily with fork.

Remove salmon from oven and leave to cool in the liquid.

For the sauce, combine all the ingredients, and chill.

When salmon is cooled, remove from cooking liquid and place on serving plates. Serve cold with the cucumber dill sauce.
