Russ's big beefy beans recipe details
An easy beef and bean casserole with a big taste. Appropriate for the firehouse or the lumberjack camp.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 1/2 pound bacon
- 1 pound hamburger or pork sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dried mustard
- 1/2 cup ketchup (more if desired)
- 1 (55 ounce) can baked beans and liquid
- 1 (10 ounce) can lima beans, strained
- 1 (10 ounce) can kidney beans and liquid
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 1 hour1. Preheat your oven to 350 F.
2. Spray a coat of nonstick cooking spray on a 3-quart baking dish.
3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon thoroughly, then drain on paper towel and crumble.
4. While the bacon is cooking, brown the hamburger and chopped onion in separate skillet over medium heat.
5. Place hamburger and onion in baking dish, then add rest of ingredients on top and mix together.
6. Bake for 1 hour.
