Russian mincemeat pot recipe details
Ingredients
4 large | onions, chopped |
5 tbsp | oil |
1.6 kg | minced beef |
3 stalk(s) | leek, sliced |
800 g | tomato puree |
500 ml | vegetable stock |
1 tbsp | mustard |
mild paprika powder | |
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste | |
450 g | sour cream |
Instructions
In a large pot, sauté the onion in hot oil until lucent. Increase the heat and add the minced meat. Fry until lightly brown and crumbly. Add the leek and the tomato purée and fry for some more minutes.Deglaze with the vegetable stock, then stir in the mustard and the condiments and bring to the boil. Let simmer over gentle heat for at least 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Stir in the sour cream, then serve immediately with pasta, rice or bread.
