Russian beef ragout recipe details
Ingredients
750 g | beef tenderloin, cut into stripes |
1 large can(s) | tomato pulp |
1 | onion, chopped |
1 | leek, sliced |
salt | |
cayenne pepper | |
1 large can(s) | mushrooms, sliced |
3 tbsp | single cream |
½ tsp | mustard |
½ tsp | sugar |
125 ml | water |
1 tbsp | butter |
Instructions
In a saucepan, heat the butter. Add the beef tenderloin and sauté over medium heat, turning frequently. Take out of the pan, cover and set aside.Cook in the pan the onion and the leek over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the tomato pulp and water. Season with salt, cayenne pepper, mustard and sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat. Stir in the mushrooms and single cream and return the meat.
Simmer for some minutes and season to taste with salt and cayenne pepper.
