Rump steak in orange and pepper sauce recipe details
Ingredients
4 | Rump Steaks, 200 g each |
2 tbsp | butter |
200 g | single cream |
1 ½ | oranges |
4 tbsp | green pepper |
salt and pepper | |
curry powder |
Instructions
In a skillet, melt the butter. Sear the steaks over high heat from both sides for 1 minute. Reduce the heat and cook for 3-4 more minutes. Remove from the heat. Season with salt and pepper. Wrap the steaks in aluminium foil and keep warm.In the same pan, combine the cream and the juice of half an orange. Cook stirring over medium heat until thickened. Add the green pepper and simmer for 1-2 more minutes. Season to taste with salt, pepper and curry powder.
Peel and slice the remaining orange.
Arrange the steaks on serving plates together with the orange sauce and garnished with orange slices.
