Romagna style pasta recipe details
Ingredients
100 g | pasta of your choice |
salt and freshly ground black pepper | |
1 tbsp | broccoli, in small florets |
2 tbsp | red bell pepper, finely diced |
1 tsp | butter |
1 tsp | flour |
100 ml | milk |
1 tbsp | single cream |
1 tbsp | Parmesan cheese, grated |
1 tbsp | fresh basil, chopped |
Instructions
Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Cook the broccoli in salted water for 4 minutes. Keep 150 ml of the broccoli cooking water.In a saucepan, melt the butter and sauté the bell pepper. Sprinkle with the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, then pour in the broccoli water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the milk, cream and the cheese. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add in the cooked pasta and the broccoli and toss.
Serve sprinkled with fresh basil.
