Red wine balsamic glazed wings recipe details
This glaze for the humble chicken wings takes it from ordinary to extraordinary! It has a rich sweet and tangy flavor bolstered by the heat and spice of black pepper. Cook chicken wings any way you like – I use the grill.
Ready in: 25 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 3- 1/4 cup balsamic reduction (see Cook’s note)
- 1/4 cup red wine
- salt to taste
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
- 12 cooked chicken wings
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 10 mins1. Combine all ingredients except the wings in a small sauce pan over medium heat, and cook until the the liquid is reduced by half (you will know when the bubbles start to build on top of one another).
2. Remove from heat and pour in a large bowl for tossing; let stand for 5 minutes.
3. Toss with the cooked chicken wings. Serve immediately.Cook’s note:
Balsamic reduction is available in most supermarkets. However, to make your own, simply mix 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and cook in a small saucepan until volume is reduced by half.
