Red spicy bbq baked beans recipe details

Ingredients
Serves: 4- 4 slices lean bacon, cut crosswise into thin strips
- 1 cup finely diced Spanish onion
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1 pound cooked navy beans
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon pure ground mild red chile
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 3 hours1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
2. In a heavy skillet, fry the bacon strips over medium-high heat until crisp, about 8 minutes. Remove and set aside. Add onion and garlic, and continue cooking until the onion is translucent but not browned, about 8 minutes.
3. Transfer the bacon, onion, and any fat that may have accumulated to a mixing bowl. Toss with remaining ingredients and combine well.
4. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 2-quart baking dish and bake, uncovered, for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Serving Suggestions
