Ingredients
2 kg | tomatoes, skinned and chopped |
2 large | onions, chopped |
600 ml | white vinegar |
500 g | sugar |
1 tbsp | curry powder |
1 tbsp | salt |
1 tbsp | English mustard |
½ tsp | cayenne pepper |
Instructions
Mix curry powder, salt, cayenne pepper and mustard together with a little of the vinegar to form a paste.
Place all ingredients into a large saucepan and bring to boil, then simmer for approximately 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are cooked and the sauce has thickened.
Bottle whilst hot in sterilised jars and allow to cool.
Fills 5 normal jam jars.
