Red cabbage and apples recipe details
Ingredients
1 head(s) | red cabbage, grated |
5 | cooking apples, peeled, cored, sliced |
3 tbsp | butter |
2 ½ tsp | flour |
240 ml | red wine vinegar |
100 g | brown sugar |
90 ml | dry red whine |
2 tbsp | lemon juice |
2 tsp | salt |
Instructions
Steam cabbage until tender. Drain well. Combine cabbage with apples and set aside.Melt butter in a large saucepan. Add flour and stir until smooth.
Bring to a simmer, and add remaining ingredients. Keep stirring frequently, until sauce begins to thicken. Add cabbage and apples and toss until mixed. Continue to cook for 10 more minutes.
