Half turkey, half beef, this basic recipe gives you a slightly healthier version of traditional all-beef meatloaf. Or, to look at it more optimistically, a slightly tastier version of all-turkey meatloaf.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 2 egg whites
- 2/3 cup ketchup
- 1 potato, shredded
- 1 green bell pepper, minced
- 1 onion, grated
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 3/4 pound ground beef
- 3/4 pound ground turkey
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 55 mins1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F, line a 15×10-inch baking pan with foil, and coat with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Combine egg whites, half the ketchup, and remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl. Form into a 10×4-inch meatloaf and set on the foil-lined pan.
3. Bake for 45 minutes, then top with the remaining 1/3 cup ketchup and bake for another 10 minutes. When meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F, it’s done.
