Real pizza burgers recipe details
My two favorite foods, combined into one! Can’t get any better than this 🙂
Ready in: 1 hour 35 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 8- 2 packs pizza dough mix
- 16 tablespoons pizza sauce
- 4 cups mozzarella cheese
- 4 cups Cheddar cheese
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup finely chopped bell pepper
- 1 (1 ounce) pack Ranch dressing mix
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cups dried bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 slices Pepperjack cheese
- 4 jalapeños
Preparation method
Prep: 45 mins | Cook: 50 mins1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
2. Follow the directions on the package for the pizza dough. Create a round ball of dough. Keep the ball pretty small as you will be flattening it out to the size of a normal hamburger bun. Sprinkle flour onto a cutting board/bread board and lightly coat the ball with flour so it does not stick to the roller and flatten it into a round pizza crust. The goal should be to keep it very thin so when it cooks, it will be nice and crispy. Transfer to a cookie sheet. Repeat until you have 16 crusts made, 8 crusts on each sheet.
3. On one sheet, coat each crust with 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce and 1/4 cup each of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Place into middle oven rack until the crust is light brown and the cheese is melted in the middle (appx. 12-15 minutes). Repeat with second batch of eight crusts.
4. Mix together the beef, the onion, the green pepper, the ranch dressing mix, the egg, and the dried bread crumbs. Combine thoroughly. Separate into eight patties.
5. Add a tablespoon of olive oil to a skillet. Pan fry the patties four at a time, at med temperature, covered, flipping every five minutes. You should only have to flip twice. After the second flip, if cooked all the way through, cover with a slice of pepperjack cheese and let melt. Clean skillet and cook the remaining four patties.
6. Once everything is cooked, we need to build the burgers. Place a hamburger patty on top of one of the pizza crusts. Add jalapeños on top of the pepperjack cheese. Cover with one of the pizza crusts, face down. You now have a pizza burger! Repeat 7 times.
