- Ingredients
- 2-1/2 cups steel-cut oats (health food departments of upscale grocery stores)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Water to cover by 1 inch
- Real maple syrup on the side for sweetener or in a well in the center of the oatmeal
- Chopped fruit and/or nuts sprinkled on top or on the side
Bring steel-cut oats to a boil. Cover and simmer for about five minutes. Taste for doneness. You don’t want it all mushy — rather al dente.
