Quick and Easy Red Wine Marinara Sauce

The red wine gives this sauce a distinct taste, which I love. You may not want to add as much garlic as I do, but I’m a garlic guy.

Ingredients
Serves: 8
- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- 5 to 10 cloves garlic
- 1 medium to large onion, diced
- 2 (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh or dried basil
- 1/2 cup red wine
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 1 hour
1. In a skillet, heat olive oil and add garlic. Cook over medium heat until aromatic, about 2 minutes. Add onion and cook for 10 more minutes.
2. Add rest of ingredients and bring to boil, then simmer for minimum of 45 minutes, stirring occasionally
