Pronto pear and pecan salad recipe details
A nice fresh salad full of delightful contrasts and doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to throw together.
Ready in: 10 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 2- 1 pear
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 3 wedges Laughing Cow(R) Creamy Swiss cheese
- Several loose handfuls of any Mixed Greens combination (I quite fancy Nature’s Promise(R) Organic Spring Greens mix)
- balsamic vinegar
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 5 mins1. Start off by taking your pear and quartering it. Remove the seeds with a handy paring knife. Proceed to slice the pear into slivers and throw into a nice salad bowl.
2. Grab yourself a small frying pan and toss the pecans in to toast on a medium-high heat, and cook them just enough to bring out some oils and some deeper flavors. Take your Laughing Cow Swiss cheese wedges and cut them up a bit so they are in smaller chunks (similar in size to the pecans.) Toss the chunks in with the pecans and let them cook for no more than 20 or 30 seconds, just enough to warm them and get some of the pecan oils. Take the pecans and cheese off the heat and deposit on top of the pears in a salad bowl. Add in greens and give the whole salad a nice toss with your hands. Splash with a bit of balsamic vinegar. Serve, enjoy, and prosper.
