Praline french toast recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
- Two 6.25-ounce packages of frozen butter crescent rolls, thawed*
- 6 large eggs
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
French toast with a twist. This is a favorite amongst Manor of Time guests.
* Can also use canned crescent rolls from the dairy case (jumbo or regular — cook according to directions) or packaged crescent rolls from the bakery.
Mix together brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring often, until butter melts and mixture is smooth. Pour into a lightly greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Place crescent rolls in a single layer over syrup. Blend together eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt. Pour over rolls. Cover and chill (approximately 8 hours) in refrigerator overnight.
Remove from refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, and serve immediately with warm maple cinnamon syrup.
