Pears with red wine syrup recipe details
Ingredients
1 kg | pears, peeled |
150 g | sugar |
½ bottle(s) | red wine |
½ stick(s) | cinnamon |
3 | cloves |
½ | lemon, juiced |
Instructions
In a saucepan, cook the pears covered with water for 5 minutes. Drain and allow to cool.In a bowl, mix together the red wine and lemon juice. Add the cooked pears and allow to steep for 30 minutes.
Pour the wine into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat. Stir in the sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Simmer for 5 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved. Add the pears and cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes. Drain the pears and set aside.
Cook the remaining sauce until thick.
Arrange the pears in small serving bowls and drizzle the syrup over the fruit. Serve warm or cold.
