Christmas prawns in flaming brandy recipe details
Ingredients
1 ½ kg | prawns, large and heads off |
75 g | butter |
some | black pepper, grounded |
4 tbsp | brandy |
350 g | button mushrooms, sliced |
1 tsp | cake flour |
300 ml | crème fraîche |
2 tsp | soy sauce |
1 pinch(es) | paprika powder |
100 ml | mozzarella cheese, grated |
Instructions
Shell and devein the prawns.Heat half the butter in a large pan and fry the prawns for 2 minutes until cooked. Remove the pan from heat and season the prawns with pepper.
Warm the brandy, pour over and set alight. Once the flames die down transfer prawns into a baking dish.
Melt remaining butter in the same pan and fry the mushrooms gently until softened. Blend in the flour and slowly stir in the Crème Fraîche and bring to the boil.
Remove from the heat and season with pepper, soy sauce and paprika powder. Pour the sauce over the prawns and top with grated cheese.
Place under a grill until the topping is golden and the prawns are hot.
Serving suggestion:Serve with bread or pasta.
