Pears in red wine recipe details
Ingredients
12 small | pears, juicy |
500 ml | red wine |
200 g | sugar |
some | cloves |
1 | cinnamon stick |
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 200°C.Wash the pears. Remove the blossom, however leave the stem.
Place the pears side by side, stems up, in a greased high casserole dish and cover with the red wine up to the stems. Add in the sugar, the cinnamon stick and the cloves.
Bake in the oven for 60 minutes or until the pears are soft. The red wine should be thickened and syrupy. Allow the pears to cool completely in the red wine syrup.
Serve the pears with a little red wine syrup and whipped cream.
