Pears in praline sauce recipe details
- Ingredients – Pears:
- 8 ripe pears
- 1 or 2 lemons
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 Tablespoons water
- Praline Sauce:
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1-1/2 Tablespoons vanilla
Pears: Peel and core pears, squeeze lemon juice over pears and sprinkle with sugar and water. Place 4 pears with stem facing the center of a glass plate and microwave for 4 to 6 minutes, repeat with remaining pears. (If prepared in advance seal pears in plastic bag with lemon juice and refrigerate).
Praline Sauce: Combine brown sugar and water in sauce pan, bring to heavy rolling boil for 12 to 15 minutes. Stir with wooden spoon to a thin thread stage. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool.
Presentation: Place pears in individual compote dishes and drizzle desired amount of Praline Sauce over pears, top with a dollop of Créme Frâiche and a sprig of mint.
