Peach french toast recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 12 slices day-old French breach 3/4″ thick
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
- One 29-ounce can sliced peaches, drained
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 Tablespoons water
- 5 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- Ground cinnamon
In saucepan, bring brown sugar, butter and water to a boil, simmer 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour into greased 13 x 19 inch baking dish, top with peaches, and arrange bread over peaches.
In bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and vanilla, slowly pour over bread, cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Remove from refrigerator, sprinkle with cinnamon, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, uncover, bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
