Pao de lo recipe details
Ingredients
10 tbsp | plain flour |
13 tbsp | caster sugar |
6 medium | eggs, separated |
30 g | butter |
Instructions
Preheat oven to Gas Mark 4, 180°C, 350°F.Butter a 10 inch, 25cm tube pan, if you have one. A 9-inch, 22cm cake tin will make a good substitute.
Beat egg whites in a clean bowl until very stiff.
In a separate bowl beat yolks until light in colour. Fold into stiff whites.
Add sugar and flour and fold through thoroughly. Pour into prepared tin.
Bake for about 45 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes in tin. Remove from tin. Allow to cool fully before serving.
Will serve 8-10.
