Pan fried catfish recipe details
Ingredients1. All purpose flour or corn flour (1/4c)
2. fresh or frozen and thawed catfish fillets (1 pound)
3. cooking oil for shallow frying
4. salt (1/8tsp)
5. ground black pepper (1/4tsp)
6. ground red pepper (1/2tsp)
7. Endive (optional)
8. Tartar sauce (optional)
9. lemon wedges (optional)
Method of preparation
1. Take a shallow dish, mix corn or all purpose flour, salt, black pepper and red pepper in it. Then coat the fish fillets in this flour mixture.
2. Take a frying pan of 12 inch, heat cooking oil in it over medium heat until it gets hot. Place the fish fillets in single layer in the frying pan. Fry the fillets from one side for about 3 minutes until they change to golden color.
3. Now turn the side of the fillets and fry them for 3 to 4 minutes more until the fillets change to golden color and flakes easily with a fork.
4. Then place fried fish fillets on paper towels to drain. Now the pan fried catfish is ready to serve. Decorate the fish with lemon wedges and endive and then serve it hot with tartar sauce.
