Pampered pomeranian stew recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 3 cups well-rinsed organic quinoa (or rice, oats, millet, etc.)
- Turkey (or fish, chicken, pork, or lamb)
- Garlic
- Finely chopped broccoli and grated carrots (or whatever vegetables)
Why a dog food recipe? My guests returning from a long swim with the dolphins smelled food cooking and asked, “What’s this? I explained to them that my naturopathic vet from Kauai taught me to cook fresh food for my dogs. 1/4 protein, 1/4 vegetables, and 1/2 grain. This particular bath has ground turkey, garden greens and quinoa (Aztec grain). “Can I have some?” they asked. I gladly shared it with them to find that they loved it and asked for the recipe. Here it is…
Place the well-rinsed organic quinoa in a rice cooker and add 6 cups of boiling water and cook. Slowly cook garlic and ground turkey for about 5 minutes. Add finely chopped broccoli and grated carrots for a few minutes.
When everything is cooked, put it together and stir. For my dogs, I add some olive oil, spiralina, powdered dog vitamins, yeast powder, and seaweed flakes. I also put in the seeds of the papaya (covering is rich in enzymes) and some avocado. Dr. Ihor Basko also recommends adding a raw egg every 4 days. He said that, years ago, after the hurricane, he and his neighbors lived on the dog food he had stored in his freezer!
