Old school margarita recipe details
This is the original recipe as near as I can tell, and if its not, it is as far in the search as I need to go. As a warning, however, this does go down smooth, but it is not for the timid.
Ready in: 2 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 1- 2 ounces tequila
- 1 ounce triple sec
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- juice from 1/2 lime
Preparation method
Prep: 1 min | Cook: 1 min1. Squeeze the lime juice over ice in a double old fashioned or juice glass.
2. Add tequila, triple sec, and simple syrup (it is just sugar-water).
3. Shake to mix.Other ideas
Salt is not my preference, but may be added to the rim if I am not there to stop you. Simple syrup is easily made with one part sugar, one part hot water, so it seems like a waste to buy it. Also, don’t bother trying to freeze it because there is way too much alcohol for that to happen.
