Old fashioned butterscotch sauce recipe details
Ingredients
200 g | brown sugar |
180 ml | corn syrup |
60 g | butter |
180 ml | evaporated milk |
⅛ tsp | baking soda |
1 tsp | vanilla |
Instructions
In a medium saucepan combine sugar, syrup, and butter. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until sugar has dissolved.Bring to a full boil and allow to boil, without stirring, for exactly 1 minute. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
In another bowl, combine evaporated milk, baking soda and vanilla. Stir into the slightly cooled sauce.
To store, pour into jars, cover, and refrigerate.
To reheat, place jar in a pan of warm water.
