Okanagan apple scones details
- Ingredients
- 2 cups white flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, cold
- 1 apple, peeled and grated
- 1/2 cup milk
- Milk for brushing
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter or rub until crumbly. Add milk to mixture all at once, stirring with fork to form soft dough. Gently knead 10 times on lightly floured surface. Pat into two 6-inch circles and place on a greased cookie sheet. Score each top into 6 wedges. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned and risen.
