Mt. shasta ranch recipe details
- Ingredients:
- Extra sourdough bread
- Slices of ham
- Green chilis
- Cheddar cheese
- Monterey Jack cheese
- 8 eggs
- Milk
- 5 drops Tabascopepper sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Grey Pouponmustard (or a good stone-ground mustard)
- Garnish:
- Salsa
- Tomato slices
- Avocado slices
Lightly oil 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Layer bottom with 3/4 inch sourdough bread, then cover with thin slices of ham and strips of green chilis. Cover with about 1/2 inch shredded cheeses. Put eggs in blender, then fill to full mark with milk. Add Tabasco, pepper, garlic powder, and mustard. Blend on high. Pour liquid over the ingredients in pan. Marinate overnight.
Bake at 350 degrees 1 to 1-1/4 hours. Let set up for 30 minutes. Cut into 3 x 3-inch squares and garnish. Serve with fresh fruit, a croissant, and country fried potatoes.
