If you didn’t shame yourself enough last night, you can do it today with the Morning After Burger. Chock full of breakfast flavor and spice, you’ll be in full gluttony goodness.
Ready in: 45 mins

Ingredients

Serves: 6
  • 16 ounces ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 extra large egg
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1/2 cup chopped apple
  • 1/2 cup chopped sweet onion
  • 6 thick slices of extra sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 6 English muffins
  • 10 strips of bacon
  • 6 extra large eggs
  • For Maple Pepper Sauce:
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise

Preparation method

Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 30 mins

1. Get the grill going to a medium high heat.
2. In a medium bowl combine the ground turkey, salt, thyme, black pepper, chipotle powder, garlic powder, nutmeg, allspice, egg, molasses, chopped apple, and chopped onion with your bare hands. Form them into 6 patties.
3. Grill the patties for about 5 minutes on one side. Flip and grill for another 3 minutes. Add the cheese on top and finish grilling for another 2 minutes or until cheese has melted. Quickly grill the English muffins until toasted.
4. While the turkey burgers are on the grill, add a coated grill pan on the grill. Fry eggs and bacon until desired level.
5. To prepare the Maple Pepper sauce, in a medium sauce pot, combine ketchup, molasses, maple syrup, minced garlic, chipotle pepper, and brown sugar. Heat over medium-high heat until boiling. Reduce heat to low and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Blend in mayonnaise to sauce.
6. To stack your burgers, smother the toasted English muffins with Maple Pepper sauce. Lay your turkey burger, strips of bacon, and fried egg.
7. Enjoy and hope for redemption!
