Microwave toasted granola cereal recipe details
This granola has been a family breakfast favorite for around 20 years. It’s very basic and easy to make. It’s also very delicious. For extra flavor/nutrition we sometimes add raisins, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, flax meal, peanut butter, almonds, or pecans.

Ingredients
Serves: 12- 4 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup wheat germ
- 1 cup wheat bran
- 1 cup coconut flakes
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sunflower seed kernels
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 8 mins1. Place all ingredients except for the sunflower seeds in a microwave safe bowl and stir until evenly mixed.
2. Cook in the microwave for 5 minutes.
3. Stir thoroughly and put in the microwave for 1 minute. Repeat this step — stirring and microwaving in 1 minute intervals — until granola is slightly toasted. For our 1100 watt microwave, it takes 2 minutes total. Your results may vary depending on the power of your microwave and your desired degree of toasting.
4. Stir in sunflower seeds and let cool.
5. Serve in a bowl with milk. Enjoy!
