Ingredients

450 g butter, softened
100 g confectioners’ sugar
1 medium egg, yolk only
1 ½ tbsp vanilla
400 g flour

Instructions

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Combine the butter and sugar and beat until smooth. Add the egg yolk and vanilla and beat until just blended. Add the flour and beat until a soft dough forms.

Take small parts of the dough and roll into balls. Place balls 5 cm apart on a tray lined with parchment paper and bake until golden.

Fill a bowl with more sugar and toss warm cookies until they look snowy, then place on a rack to cool.
