Ingredients
200 g | semolina, (farina/cream of wheat cereal) |
750 ml | milk |
20 g | butter |
1 tbsp | sugar |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
1 | egg yolk |
50 g | flour |
30 g | breadcrumbs |
1 | egg(s) |
20 g | butter |
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, bring milk, sugar and salt to a boil. Stir in cereal and let it come back to a boil. Remove from heat, wait a few minutes and then stir in the egg yolk. Allow the cereal to absorb all the liquid and cool down a bit.
Spread about 1.5 cm thick onto a wet cutting board or cookie sheet. After it has cooled completely, cut into squares.
Bread the patties by coating them with flour, running them through the beaten egg, and coating them with breadcrumbs.
In a frying pan, melt the butter and fry patties until golden brown.
Serve with apple sauce or compote and cinnamon sugar. Leftovers are great cold too!
